family dinner, neighborhood holiday party, moooore baking

first, thanks again for your well wishes for my dad. he was discharged from the hospital saturday afternoon. the antibiotics helped to reduce most of his symptoms from the infection, but the port in his chest (where they administer his chemo) appears to still be having issues, so he will likely have to have it removed and a new one put in. we'll know more today.

friday night was the first evening all week that thatcher, azalea, and i were all home together. it was nice to just relax as a family and then watch a movie after azalea went to sleep. saturday i had lunch at pizza luce with my college roomie, sarah. we hadn't seen each other since summer, but thankfully she is the kind of friend where you can just pick up from where you left off :) saturday evening we had thatcher's parents over for dinner. we made pizza and hung out.

they stayed to watch azalea, so we could attend a neighborhood holiday party a couple houses down. it was a lot of fun. there were quite a few people from the neighborhood who we had never met. we were definitely the youngins there ;)

sunday morning i took azalea to lambs group at church. it was a smaller than normal group, but still fun. my car got stuck on some ice where we parked and a nice guy (with 3 small kids in tow) who i've never met, helped push me out! thanks dude! in the afternoon i went to my friend kelli's for her annual christmas cookie exchange. there were 5 other girls there, so i took home lots of cookies. just what i need. haha. i made chocolate pixie cookies that i came across on you're my favorite today. thanks for the recipe, michelle!

kelli, lane, and diane

the girls making dough...on the floor, of course!

(im)patiently waiting for our cookies to bake :)

after cookies, i picked up a couple more christmas gifts (still not finished, arg!). thatcher and i played with azalea the rest of the afternoon and then took a drive around the ritzy areas of edina to look at christmas lights. how does the weekend always go so fast?!

Looks like a fun weekend!! Glad to hear that your dad's infection has been resolved, thinking of him today!

The cookies look delicious! I have not bought ONE present yet! I am planning to bust it all out at the MOA sometime this week after work. Send prayers LOL ;-S
