girls night, family pizza date, new friends

happy monday! i wasn't the best picture taker this weekend. my excuse is that the display screen on our camera is broken, so i'm basically taking blind pics these days.

friday night i went to my high school friend michelle's new apartment to have dinner with her and our friend anna. michelle was the hostest with the mostest! she had an awesome appetizer spread and wine all ready to go when we got there (crackers and brie cheese, olives, strawberries, and blueberries). then she served us feta stuffed chicken and a spinach avocado tomato salad for dinner. i brought carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for dessert. needless to say, we were all stuffed! it was fun hanging out with them and catching up.

yummy apps and wine!

azalea spent the evening with thatcher's parents and his mom sent me home with this picture of toddler thatcher. i couldn't get over how much azalea looks like him at that age. same hair and everything :)

saturday was sort of rough in the toddler department. azalea was soooo cranky and every little thing was sending her into a puddle of tears on the floor, half the time we couldn't even figure out why she was freaking out. i just keep telling myself this is normal, this is normal. we tried to get her to take a little nap in the morning, but she refused. we met our friends becky, jeromy, and linnea at pizzeria lola for lunch. luckily, azalea did pretty well at the restaurant. we went right when it opened because it gets so busy (and so the girls could get down for their naps in the early afternoon). we had a good time hanging out with them as always! when we got home, azalea slept for 2 hours and i ended up napping as well for 1.5 hours of it. haha. i did throw some laundry and then figured that was enough productivity for the afternoon. ;) the rest of the day we ran some errands, made dinner, went for a walk around the neighborhood, and then thatcher and i ended the night with dessert and a movie on the couch!

sunday morning azalea was up at 6am...and it was still dark out. it was sort of painful! we went to the kingfield farmer's market right when it opened at 8:30. got lots of yummy veggies to make kabobs and a little thai food "snack".

azalea at the farmers market. she was not into smiling for the camera this weekend.

later in the morning, we went out to our friends sara and wes's house for lunch. they had friends in town from south dakota, who we've never met in person, but they have a daughter who was born the same day as azalea. i've gotten to know her mom steph online. it was fun to meet them in real life! they didn't bring their daughter, but hopefully next time. after azalea's afternoon nap, she and i met up with another high school friend of mine, meghan at lake harriet. i hadn't seen her in 2 years and she had never met azalea, so it was really nice to catch up. in the evening, azalea and i stopped at my parents' for a quick hello and then came home and had our kabobs with our farmer's market veggies. so yummy! thatcher and i ended the night and weekend with another movie. whew!!
