mn blogger happy hour...or when strangers become friends

remember a while ago when i told you i joined a mn bloggers site? the site has been steadily growing since then and the creator, kelly decided to plan a happy hour for everyone to meet up! it had been on my calendar for a month and last night was the big night. i was soooo nervous all day. i've never been on a blind date before, but i'm pretty sure this must be what one feels like! would anyone know who i am? would they be easy to talk to? would it be awkward? 

i showed up at psycho suzi's at 5:30, right after work with my heart beating a million beats per minute. i got into the restaurant and immediately heard two girls call out "melissa! over here!" you have no idea how much that helped calm my nerves (they know me!!). there were only 4 or 5 bloggers there when i arrived, but more and more started showing up. it sounds nerdy, but it was like all of these girls who live in my computer (who i feel like i know) were all coming to life. haha!

there were 13 bloggers there in all. i had the best time meeting/getting to know all of them. they could not have been a nicer, more fun group of girls. we all joked about how nervous we were and how weird it was to be getting together with people we "met" on the internet, so that really helped break the ice.

we spent 3 hours (well that's how long i stayed), sipping on tropical drinks, eating greasy appetizers, and chatting about everything under the sun. i didn't want to leave! i can't wait for the next one (hint hint) :) thank you so much kelly and carolyn for planning an awesome night!
