basement cleaning, anniversary, open streets

another fun summer weekend! why must they fly by so fast? friday night we stayed in and cleaned the basement after azalea went to bed. (yep, that project is still going on. that's what happens when you spend approx. 1 hour on it every 3 weeks. ha!).

saturday was our 5th anniversary! the only plan we made was to get professional massages in the afternoon. thatcher's parents watched azalea and we went and got pampered at a spa for an hour. i booked a "together massage" which meant we were in the same room...although we both had our eyes closed 99% of the time, but it was fun knowing he was with me. haha. but let me tell you, the massage was so nice! both of us have only gotten a professional massage once before, so we really enjoyed it! we spent the evening making dinner, playing with azalea, and watched a movie. no fancy dinner out, but it was perfect!

i remembered to take our pic...but i did not remember to zoom in :)

sunday was "open streets" on lyndale ave. it's this cool event once a year where they close down the busy street for 20 blocks and only allow bikers and pedestrians on it for the day! we took azalea in the bike trailer and met my parents. it was a lot of fun, but super super hot (90 degrees)!! we each got a slice of pizza at pizza luce for lunch and by the time we got home, we were dying from the heat! azalea was a trooper and i could tell she was warm too even though she just got to relax.

chillin...and trying to remove her helmet.

the gang...like the leis my mom brought for us? she is too funny.

we came home and ate popcicles and relaxed in the ac afterward. azalea took a 3 hour nap(!), which she never does. the heat must have worn her out. after her nap, we went for a walk around the neighborhood with rebekah and chester. thatcher made us dinner and he and i watched a movie to round out the weekend!

What a nice, relaxing weekend! We got a couples massage once too, thinking that needs to happen again sometime soon :)

I love Pizza Luce, so yummy!

Don't even get me started on projects taking forever! We started our bathroom remodel in like February and still aren't done. I literally have to paint like 2 things and it will be done, but I just haven't done it yet...woops!
