the 3 days of christmas
for the last couple years, we've had 3 days of christmas celebrations. the 23rd, 24th and 25th. it's perfect. we get to see everyone and we don't have to go multiple places on the same day. the 23rd we spend with my mom's side of the family, the 24th we spend with thatcher's family, and the 25th we spend with my family. since this is azalea's first christmas, i've been taking a million pictures, so i'm splitting each day into a different post. you've been warned :)
last night was our celebration with my mom's side of the family. the reason we started doing it on the 23rd is because we have it in the party room at my grandma's condo and it's much easier to reserve it on the 23rd than christmas eve or christmas day. we had a great time!
here's azalea and her great grandma snuggling. love this.
my aunt shari came in town from atlanta, so it was fun to have her here! azalea thought so too :)
we had a yummy dinner of ham, cheesy potatoes, salad, and more. azalea even munched on some corn, peas, and bread like a big girl!
then i dragged thatcher and azalea over to the tree for a family picture. my two lovies.
we've had a tradition of playing white elephants for many years. it's always a mix of silly gifts and desirable gifts, which makes it fun when it gets to the stealing part of the game.
and of course we exchange regular presents too. the grown ups (am i really a grown up?) exchange names and the "kids" (my 2 cousins and azalea get gifts from everyone). azalea was much more into the wrapping paper than her gifts. ha! but she received a couple books, a fun bath toy, and some money. lucky little girl.
we had a blast celebrating her first night of christmas with her. as the only baby (and person under 17!) in the family, she certainly was the star of the show.
