rain + wind, fall festival, lazy days

i made chili last monday and used ground turkey, sweet potato, green pepper, and quinoa instead of beans (thatcher can't do beans). it was so good. we made cornbread too, of course!

we've been pretty lucky this month that it hasn't been too rainy, but it returned the middle of last week. azalea had two soccer practices, but they managed to dodge the rain. thursday i went to tukwila with vanessa to check out some thrift shops. we also had lunch. i scored this sweater from loft and a halloween picture frame and some christmas dessert plates. you know i can't resist holiday decor :)

friday night we picked up chipotle for dinner and watched a movie with the kids. on saturday there was a fall festival at school. it was outdoors (masks required) and the first school "event" in almost 2 years. we were worried it was going to pour, but it stayed mostly dry. i helped plan and execute a "candy walk" (like a cake walk). it was a big hit with the kids. i felt like i had no voice left after calling out numbers for 2 hours! i didn't take any pictures, but i stole these off the school's facebook page :)

we relaxed at home the rest of the day and made dinner and had another movie night. azalea and i watched 'father of the bride 2' upstairs and thatcher and ashford watched a movie together downstairs.

sunday we had no plans. we ran some errands, cleaned, and read/lounged around. bob's funeral was in minnesota sunday afternoon and i did not go home for it, so i'm thankful my cousin jenna recorded it. i plan to watch it today. this friday we are going to camano island again to stay in the same little rustic cabins we stayed in back in july. it will probably be a very different experience since it's fall now. stay tuned!
