this week at home: my blog turns 10, rain returns, cookie delivery

we just wrapped up our 6th week of quarantine here. there is talk about some things re-opening in washington on may 4th. i'm anxious for this to happen, but i also know it needs to be a very sloooow process in order to be safe. it still blows my mind that this is our life for the foreseeable future. we found out this week that the one summer camp i signed the kids up for in mid july is already cancelled :(

this week my blog turned 10! how crazy is that? this is my 963rd post. it's been an entire decade of rambling about my life on the internet to friends, family, and probably some strangers :) my plan was always to use my blog as a baby book/family journal and i think i've succeeded in that. i love going back and reading old posts and seeing how much our lives have changed in the last 10 years. thanks for coming along for the ride!

we've been spoiled with sunny, mild weather for the last month in seattle. i have been so thankful for it since our options for entertainment are so limited right now. but this week, the clouds and rain returned and things got "seattle-like" around here again. i know we need the rain, so it's a good thing, it's just not ideal. this meant more time spent in the house and less time outside. i'm hoping that sunny days are in our future again.

but we still managed to find some fun. we've had this huge box in the garage from our thule vehicle roof storage container. we took it in the backyard and the kids set it up as a tunnel slide on the back steps. it worked perfectly and they had a blast playing in it.

they took their umbrellas out to play in the rain one day.

some days we just felt like this...

we did more baking. last weekend thatcher made chocolate chip banana bread (with a touch of ginger). it was so good!

the kids wanted to make chocolate chip cookies again. i agreed we could if we delivered some to friends. so, after baking them on thursday, we took some to our friends joe & alice and also to vanessa, matt, and ewan. it was nice to visit with them from the car.
