ashford: 17 months

- you are all about testing boundaries lately. lots of whining, tantrums, etc. but in return you have started giving me the sweetest, most hilarious open mouthed kisses. i can't wait to tell your future girlfriend about them. ;) everyone talks about how you are such a mama's boy and it's true!

- you have been talking more this month. words we hear the most from you are "ay" (hi), "a-yaya" (azalea), mama, dada, sock, shoes, yes, woof, etc.

- sometimes i feel like you live on fruit, bread, and crackers. then you'll surprise me and eat things like black olives off my fork. the fork trick only works sometimes, though.

- you are wanting to do more and more things yourself. like feeding yourself with a fork or spoon, putting your shoes (near) your feet, brushing your teeth, flushing the toilet for mama., etc.

- for a while there, you were sleeping decently, but for the past few weeks you've been waking at least once per night and waking for the day between 4:30 and 5:30. we try to put you in a our bed for a bit, while we doze, but it doesn't last long. you've also had numerous days where you've only slept for 30-60 minutes the entire day. i'm not gonna lie, it's kind of scary. haha.

- we are still nursing, but we're pretty much down to first thing in the morning and right before bed at night. we do when we are together for nap time, but you've been spending a lot of time away during the days while mama gets ready for our move.

- you make us laugh and humble us every day with your crazy antics. we are loving watching you go from baby to little boy, but you will always always be my baby.

- i can't believe your next update will be from seattle!
