baby #2: week 18 (adjusted time is 21 weeks)

18 Weeks Pregnant
august 12-18

what has been going on this week: thatcher has been out of town, so lots of mama and azalea time, and grandma and grandpa time, went to the splash pad and mn zoo with friends, i attended my co-worker william's wedding.

size of baby:  5.5 inches long and weighs 7 oz. the size of a bell pepper.

maternity clothes: a mixture of maternity/regular shirts and maternity/elastic bottoms. i bought a couple short sleeved maternity tops and regular cardigans that i can wear into the fall and winter. i think that look is going to be a staple of my wardrobe in the coming months.

symptoms: same old broken out skin, hungry all the time, super tired (i fall asleep around 9pm every night and nap as often as i can)

movement: baby continues to be a mover and a shaker in there. it's so nice knowing that he or she is strong and thriving.

gender: 1.more.week. can't believe it's almost here! baby better cooperate :)

food cravings/aversions: loving pretty much all foods - especially pizza, chipotle, fruit, etc. no coffee for me this week.

morning sickness: a little bit of nausea in the morning for an hour or so after breakfast, like clock work.

what i miss: thatcher!!

best moment of the week: another good prenatal appt

what thatcher is saying: nothing really this week since he was gone. he's been asking more about our out-of-the-womb child :) he was curious if my doctor could tell me anything about the possibility of multiple babies though. nope, not really. haha.

sleep: aside from not sleeping the greatest with thatcher being gone, it's been ok. the doctor said i should start trying to sleep on my sides exclusively. arg, we're there already?

what i'm looking forward to: obviously finding out the gender, and starting to think more about the nursery!

appointment recap from last week: i saw the nurse practitioner on august 14th for my check up. it was another uneventful appointment, which is always nice. i talked to her about the super early, strong movements i've felt and she said it's perfectly normal and i'm just lucky. when i mentioned feeling baby move in two pretty far away spots, and joked about there being more than one in there, she just smiled and said "it's a possibility. you'll find out in just a couple weeks." ummmm thanks? haha. my belly and weight gain are right on track, which is nice to hear. and baby's heart beat was 128 bpm, which is the lowest it's been (still normal range). hmmmm will the old wives tale of under 140 = boy hold true? :)

Ohhhh, I see a distinct baby bump this week!! I can't believe only 2 more weeks until the halfway mark! So looking forward to finding out the gender! I am guessing a BOY! With Rosemary I never ever got nausea, but with Adam I had it like clockwork in the mornings until right about 18 weeks. So, I can only assume! :)
