my birthday and the 4th

i'm smack dab in the middle of my lovely 5 day weekend, but the 3rd and 4th of july are 2 of my favorite days of the year, so they are getting their own post.

wednesday morning (my birthday!), azalea and i had plans to meet up with my friend emily for brunch, but unfortunately she had to cancel because she was sick. thatcher suggested that azalea and i come meet him for lunch over by his work instead. azalea and i had a relaxing morning together. went to target and played at home. it was so beautiful out! she even "gifted" me some birthday tantrums scattered through out the morning. how nice of her. haha!

we went to thatcher's office and stopped in to see his co-workers (i'm sure you can guess who they really wanted to see) and then we walked over to noodles for lunch. not fancy, but delicious and toddler-friendly. i brought azalea home for nap time and enjoyed some lounging time while she slept. in the late afternoon, thatcher's mom and our nephew jack stopped over to drop off my birthday gift! in the evening, we had my brother and my parents over for dinner. thatcher made yummy pizza on the grill and the most amazing oreo cheesecake! it was all soooo good. it was nice to have a chill night at home with the people i love most!

now onto being 29! eeep!

our 4th started off with a family trip up to the north metro to visit our friends mollie, dave, and the famous triplets :) it was my second time seeing them (thatcher and azalea's first). they have certainly grown in the last few weeks, but are still adorably tiny! we brought them lunch and hung out for a couple hours and helped with a feeding. azalea wasn't too interested in the babies, much more interested in getting into all their stuff around the house. haha. this is the only picture i took....thatcher holding nolan:

i did a little solo shopping trip while azalea napped in the afternoon, then we dropped her off at my parents' for a sleepover. thatcher and i came back to our house and relaxed for a few hours. we didn't quite know what to do with ourselves :) around 7:30 we headed downtown to join my co-workers and their families/friends on the rooftop deck of our office building. everyone brought food and drinks to share it was such a fun place to watch fireworks. we could see a bunch of different shows going on around the metro. i only took a few pics and apparently none of anyone but ourselves. haha.

hope you had a great 4th!

Hope the rest of your long weekend is just as fun!

Also, what a great spot to watch the fireworks! Did Azalea end up watching them with your parents?
