children's museum and a visit from the fever fairy

well, my weekend ended up a little different than planned. a couple more plans in the mix and then a curve ball of azalea feeling under the weather. friday night we just stayed in and watched a movie after azalea went to sleep.

saturday morning thatcher had a meeting, so i decided to take azalea to the children's museum. i asked on facebook if anyone wanted to join us and we had a couple takers! we met our friends nate, missy, and their kids cameron and mallory. while we were there, i got a text from my friend tom saying that he and his son gavin were there, so we ended up meeting up with them too. it was a fun morning, as usual.

by the time we got home, azalea was acting a little funny. she did not eat one bite of her lunch even though it was stuff she normally loves. she kept asking to go down for her nap. ok then! thatcher was home, so shortly after she went down, i headed out to bring my friend mollie lunch and catch up. she is the one who is having triplets sometime in the next couple months. we had been meaning to get together for a while, so i was glad it worked out. we ate pasta salads and cupcakes and chatted. her pregnancy is going so well. it was really fun to see how they've prepared for adding those 3 little boys to their family soon. wow! when i got home, azalea was up from her nap, but still wouldn't eat anything. we all went for a walk with maggie (thatcher's parents' dog) around the neighborhood. when we got back, all azalea wanted to do was lay on the couch. very unlike her. she asked to go "night nights" again at 4:30, so down she went. she slept about 1.5 hours and woke up with a temp of 100. poor girl. we snuggled on the couch for most of the evening and she went to bed early.

i thought for sure she would wake up multiple times in the night, but she didn't wake up at all! she slept until about 7:15. sunday morning her fever was down to 99, which was good. we spent the morning playing inside and took maggie for a walk. i was able to sneak away to have lunch with my high school friends anna and michelle at red cow, which was fun and delicious! we even ate outside. azalea slept for 3 hours in the afternoon. she didn't seem feverish when she woke, but still not herself. we played outside for a bit (it warmed up so nicely!) and then took maggie on another walk. :)

we decided to make a yummy summery appetizer dinner...bruschetta and smoked salmon. clearly no cinco de mayo over here. haha. it was so good...tasted like summer! it was another early to bed night for azalea. not sure where this bug came from. she never had any symptoms aside from the low-grade fever, thankfully. hopefully it's run its course and we can enjoy the next few days of warm weather. my parents come back from florida tomorrow! so excited!!

Sorry to hear Azalea is under the weather. Hope she's feeling better soon. It's one thing to be sick during the winter - but, when it's finally nice enough to be outside, nobody want's the sickies. Poor babe!

Aww. Poor thing. I hate when Aubrey is sick. You feel so bad for them but secretly love the snuggles!
