bang trim, fun in the leaves, family bbq

it was another busy fall weekend at our house. saturday morning we took azalea and maggie the dog on a long walk to the grocery store to return a dvd. it was a gorgeous fall morning. the trees are turning so fast now and i love it. i wish fall would last longer in minnesota.

after our walk, azalea and i dropped off thatcher to get his hair cut and we ran couple errands, including picking up some hand-me-down clothes that dawn generously offered us. thanks again dawn for all the great stuff! when we went back to pick up thatcher, his hairdresser kelly gave azalea an impromptu bang trim. it was the first time she's gotten any sort of haircut, but it only lasted about 30 seconds, so i'll call it an unofficial hair cut :)

we hung around the house in the afternoon, did a little raking outside...and some of this cuteness happened:

she loved throwing the leaves into the air and removing them from the bin. haha!

saturday night we went to my parents for dinner. they made steak and potatoes and corn on the cob. yum! thatcher made chocolate chip pumpkin bars for dessert. double yum! it was nice not to have to cook. :)

sunday was a morning walk, a trip to the co-op, etc. in the late afternoon, we went to my aunt and uncle's for dinner. it was actually a going away party for my brother who is moving to san diego this week. i don't think it has really hit me yet. we will miss him so much, especially azalea!

she was too busy to pose for a picture. typical. ;)

after dinner, we stopped at gathering at one of thatcher's old professor's house. he still keeps in touch with her and we go every year. azalea had fun chasing a little 4 year old boy around and playing on this vintage john deer tractor!

her feet didn't even reach the pedals. ha!

Those Fall leaves are beautiful! It's still 100 degrees here and I am just itching for some Fall! I can't wait! Safe travels for your Brother on his move. We thought San Diego was really nice and I hope he enjoys it there. I know it must be very hard for you, though. I would miss my Brother bunches with that distance. Hang in there!
